PLEASE reassure me about my 4 month old's development

Just wondering what your 4 month olds are doing really. DS2 is 16 weeks old and was born at 39 weeks so not premature but he seems a bit errrrrm floppy! Not sure how to describe it and I know they all develop differently but DS1 was reaching out and holding toys, mouthing them etc at 12 weeks. Held his head up perfectly by 8 weeks etc but DS2 still seems to lurch about a bit and his head bobbles a bit as he tries to balance it although he does keep it up it seems a bit of an effort for him to keep it steady. He can hold toys and pulls on the toys on his baby gym etc but doesn't seem anywhere near as coordinated as his brother was and drops anything we hand him quite often. DS1 rolled over by now too but DS2 doesn't seem to show any interest yet. Am I expecting too much? I know I need to stop comparing buy I am a bit worried he could have developmental problems. He is quite strong with his legs and is happy when I talk and sing to him ec, smiles, makes eye contact, coos, squeals and laughs etc but seems like DS1 was when he was about 2 months not 4 months. Do I need to worry?

Probably not - wobbly head isn't the same as not being able to lift it at all. Maybe his head is heavier!? Or he is moving more while holding head up?

Also the memory does funny things and I find it condenses the real picture personally, so maybe it seemed like 2 months but wasn't so different IYSWIM. :D

Ask yourself the same question in another two months and see if you are still worried, park it until then though as it doesn't sound panic stations to me. Grin
