Apologies if this is an overused thread but I could really do with some advice. My DS is 16 months. Recently we are having a really hard time getting him to go to bed. Are normal routine is tea then play for a bit then bath milk and bed. We have tried reading him a bed time story but this doesn't work as he wants to open and close the book and take it off us.

What do you do for wind down time to prepare for going to bed?

We swopped round bath time as this went from tiring DS out to giving him another burst of energy. Try dinner, bath, quiet activity, milk and story (so he can hold bottle while you hold book) then bed. Good Luck

Thats a good tip thanks. On a few occasions we have tried bathing earlier but doesnt seem to make any difference. We are struggling with the quiet activity bit though. Will try the bottle and book though. x
