Our DD turns one next month and we're struggling to think of a good present for her. You know the score, she's got tons of toys etc already and we've only got a small yard at our house so swings/outdoor things aren't really goers. Anyone have any suggestions? All gratefully received

paddling pool ? hopefully we will get the weather for it

Unless you have older DC who will notice if she doesn't get anything then there's no real need to buy anything special - she won't remember Smile especially as (IME) everyone else will shower her with loads more stuff you'll have to find a home for.
I got DS1 his new bigger carseat for his first birthday!
If you really want to get her something special maybe an outfit? or some first shoes?

The happyland stuff from ELC is really good. I bought my DD the castle with little people for her 1st bday

We got dd a charm bracelet for her first birthday. Sil got her a charm to go on it. Others got her toys and clothes.

Another vote for happyland. I got DD the village set for her first birthday - she loves it, and you can add to it with smaller bits and pieces if you give any little treats during the year.

Never heard of happyland before, sounds interesting. Thanks for the suggestion. Charm bracelet hadn't crossed my mind, suspect my DD would make it rust with all her slavers

I would second something to keep like the charm bracelet, it's not to wear now so no slaver damage!! We got one for our God daughters christening and then have got her a charm on either her birthday or Christmas since.

DS2 had Happyland firestation, farm and rocket for his first birthday. It is lovely and lasts through several agegroups, 11yo DD and 7 yo DS1 will merrily play with it with him!

For my dd's first birthday we bought her a wooden toy pram this one as the quality of it means it will last and could even be passed onto her kids.

My DH is planning to buy DS (also 1 in a month's time) a crate of champage for laying down for him to get when he's 18 or 21.. :o I haven't yet decided whether I love or hate the idea.

I love those prams welove. they are lovely.

We bought both our dc a beautiful money box each for their first birthdays. Idea being something they could keep forever.
