Only useless words!

DS2 is 16 months, and working on talking, a bit. So far, his words are: digger (pronounced 'dldldldldldld'), crane ('aaaaaay'), duck ('duh') and moon ('mmmmmm'). Ok, he does say mumumum sometimes, but it's more of a command than a word.

I keep waiting for him to learn "more" or "no" or "milk" or "water" or even DS1's name, but no, he just wants to talk about things.

Anyone else got a baby with a weird vocabulary?

DS3 doesn't have a useful vocab either (although he can say "No!" very forcefully! Other words include "bus" (all my DSs are obsessed with buses), "Per-cy" (used to refer to all Thomas Tank type engines), beebies (standiing in front of telly, gesticulating)...

Oh, and ap-pel. Which is useful when he wants an apple.

Good luck for flights tomorrow by the way. Thinking of you.

ds (15 months) so far says duc duc (duck) and mmmm (Moo for a cow). That is it !!. I have been trying for ages to get him to say or even sign food/drink more etc. No - he just looks at me and screams when he wants something and I have to work it out - not always very sucessfully

I was just thinking today - "lovely as it is to hear him start to commumicate - couldn't his first words have been a bit more useful ??"lol
