Was this a night terror?

About 1.30am 1 year old DD started SOBBING (not crying, not screaming but sobbing like a child who was in real distress). We went into her room and she was curled up on her front, I picked her up and tried to cradle her but she was still sobbing and doing this weird jerking movement with her head and body. I took her into our room to wake her up which worked but then she started feeling hot so I took her temperature which was 38.7. We gave her some calpol and she went back to sleep after about an hour. She's not hot now so could it have been a night terror that caused her to overheat or vice versa. I was worried she was having a febrile convulsion but not sure what they look like plus she wasn't that hot.

A colleague of mine told me that his daughter (7months) has started to do this. I can't honestly remember if any of mine did at that age, but I wonder if it marks a stage in development. I'd be inclined to ask your Dr or HV about the jerking though. Hope she's better and has a good day.
