Gripe water

My 4 week old baby was terrible at being put down to sleep at night time and would cry/grumble/thrash stopping my husband and I getting to sleep for quite some time and I was crying at bedtime as I knew it would be traumatic. The past 2 nights I have tried gripe water before his last feed and he has fallen asleep almost instantly when we put him down. Anyone else found it almost knocks their babies out? Is this safe? Can you use it every night? Thanks.

Hi I always thought you couldn't use gripe water until baby was 12 weeks old? I may be wrong. Have you tried infacol? It is suitable from birth and is gentle on little tummies it worked a treat on my dd

I have the Boots own brand and it says it is fine from 1 month. Yup tried Infacol and a lack of improvement unfortunately

We used Coleif then Infacol and neither worked. Gripe water made him feel better straight away so he was able to sleep. Didn't seem to knock him out but made him more relaxed.

Hi nothing that can cause harm if used properly. Glad it's working and you have managed to find some.
