2 year old biting me

My 2 year old DS has taken to biting me, or grabing my face and pulling my hair when being told he cant have/do something. Its getting me down as I try to explain to him its not nice but he just keeps on doing it. Any advice?

A firm no, move him away from you and hold him firmly but gently at arms length while you give a simple explanation 'don't hit/bite/mummy/people'.

Repeat until it sinks in!

My Nephew used to do this at a similar age. Very firm 'No, we do not bite' and I used to remove him to the other side of the room and walk away. I would then ignore him until he decided to come over to me and I would make him say sorry for biting. If he did it again, I used to do exactly the same thing.

Took about 7 or 8 times of me doing this and the biting stopped.
Consistency is the key and stick with the same method.

Good luck with this one, it can be so frustrating.

Tell him sharply 'No! No biting!' (or grabbing, hitting whatever) and put him down straight away, before turning away from him and finding something (anything else to do). Do it every single time.
He will soon realise his action has an unpleasant consequence....being spurned...even if only very temporarily.
He will soon stop.

And yes...you must add a simple explanation after he has apologised.
"Don't bite mummy - it hurts me and makes me sad."
