Has she dropped the afternoon nap for good?

DD has skipped her afternoon nap for 4 days in a row now. She's 13 months.

Thing is, she's been so good all these months - napping religiously at 11 and 3 and for about an hour each. Now, she seems to want to go down earlier despite getting up at the same time) at about 10, 10.30. Doesn't look at all ready for a nap at 3, then by 4 she's really obviously shattered - rubbing eyes, yawning, grizzling etc, so I have given her the opportunity to go down but she absolutely screams blue murder. She just won't go down at all.

Any advice? Is this what happens when they drop a nap or do I blame our old friend, teething again? Surely it shouldn't be this traumatic? BTW she sleeps through the night really well if that has any correlation.

I would try to move her sleep to after lunch. At about this age my son did drop one nap and I managed to make so he now sleeps between about 1 and 3, give or take.

And yes, teething can be that traumatic!

I'd try and keep her awake until 11 again and hope she starts napping longer than usual.

Sounds like that horrible in between stage, she needs 1 nap per day but it's getting it in the middle of the day that can be tricky.

Thanks both - yep, I wouldn't mind if she had one nice long lunchtime nap. Will try to push it back. Re teething - she hasn't had any new teeth for months it seems. She only has six so I wouldn't be surprised if she has a few more coming now.
