How do you clean those tiny fangs?

Can anyone can give me toothcleaning tips please? DS is 18mo and won't let me near him with the toothbrush. He clamps his mouth shut and turns his head away. If I persist he starts to meltdown. I have tried different angles and have even devised a catchy toothcleaning song to the tune of "Shake n Vac" but to no avail. His pearly whites are starting to look like they could really use a good clean! Any suggestions most gratefully received.

Does he chew the brush if you give it to him while you do yours?

My DD sometimes responds well if I let her clean mine. mutual tooth cleaning.

He does chew the brush a bit but not effectively enough to produce a cleaning action. I think he would like to try cleaning mine but doubt he will accept mutual tooth cleaning although it would be very funny. I will try it; thank you.

If it gets him relaxed about the tooth-cleaning and thinking it's fun, then it's a step in the right direction.

Just asking because DS also 18 months does this while running away and hiding, he thinks it's a great game. Once I catch him he let's me do his teeth to a couple of nursery rhymes. Maybe take the stress out of it and just have a laugh til he relaxes a bit. ( easier said than done, I know!)

We've got one of these which works really well. DS will chew it himself in the bath and wanders round the house chewing it in the morning. You then need to find it again for the next brushing session though...

Could you try the chewing on toothbrush after every meal instead of just twice a day?
