How old is your dd?

MrsWembley · 25/03/2012 20:40

Oh, she's only 2.9, I know it's just terrible twos, but honestly she's just been slapping me today whenever I ask her to do anything.

Daddy, on the other hand, can do no wrong and it's just really getting me down.

Just sympathy here. Mine didn't 'love' either of us today, wailing on the woods at the top of her voice 'I don't want mummy, I don't want daddy, I don't want a dog, I don't want anything anymore ever'. She's 2.7. I'd forgotten the usual box of bribing raisins. She does slap sometimes, but with a maniacal laugh that warns me enough to defend myself.

Go and watch her sleeping. You'll feel better.

She loves you. Thats why she acts up with you. Because it's safe, she trusts you, she can... I have many, many memories of DS at that age... (he's 6 now, and loves me very much. Didn't stop him having the biggest tantrum in the world on Whitby sea front, hitting me, his dad, hating us all forever etc at about that age.)

MrsWembley · 25/03/2012 23:52

Thank-you.

It's just so emotionally draining when she behaves like this. She'll probably be gorgeous tomorrow.

At least I hope so.

Hope you have a better day. Ours has already begun with quite a lot of wailing, but happy playing for now! I try to notice all the nice moments, of which there are many more than the horrible ones, although it doesn't always seem like that!

MrsWembley · 28/03/2012 19:14

Oh my god, it's never ending.

Does anyone have any advice for dealing with being ignored and then being slapped when I say 'no, this is not how it's going to be!'

Sad
