Am I mean!

My DD1 still has a beaker of milk going to bed. Get her to clean teeth but she likes to hold onto it. I weaned her from bf straight to beaker. Am I being mean as I want to stop her taking it to bed. Worried more about teeth if she drinks from it after cleaning! I sometimes think milk is a comfort but then I think your nearly 3!

I didn't think milk attacked teeth if no food as well but that may just be breast milk.

No you're not bring mean, children should only have water after brushing their teeth. Milk contains huge amounts of sugar. Plus it's better to do it while she is younger, the longer it goes on the harder it will be to break the habit.

I would want to get rid of the habit of taking milk to bed at three.

I don't think you are mean, I'd be the same and think teeth come first. With mine though when they had a cup of milk before bed we did stories and milk downstairs then teeth then last story snuggled in bed to soften the tooth brushing blow.

Yes MamaMaiasaura bf doesn't affect teeth but anything else will.

I don't think you are mean as milk is related to tooth decay, especially if she takes regular sips during the night.

Not mean at all. Ds takes a beaker of water to bed and likes to hold it too, maybe give her milk before teeth and a new cup with water for in bed.
