DD, 8 and body hair

DD embarassed after teasing about lip and leg hair today. I'm surprised it's taken this long tbh but now it's happened, how to deal with it? She isn't a confident girl and wants to be liked. On the otherhand, the main offender is a girl who loves to tease...

I have a year three DD and if she had this, then I would remove the hair...with Nair or Immac. I know lots of people will say that's wrong...because body hair is natural and your DD shouldn't be given the message that she's letting the bullies win...BUT....she's 8...she wll get hairer....chances are she won't be an active Feminist at 13 and have the guts to grow her armpit and leg hair...though of course she should stil be aware of the pressure women get from the media to look a certain way....

I would remove the hair and nip the thing in the bud...otherwise the options include telling the teacher...or teaching DD to get back at this girl...with similar teasing.
Having been bullied for a short time in school myself , I don't hold with ignoring.

The thing is if you don't help her with removing it properly she might do something silly like try and shave it off. I shaved my arms at that age because I was being teased, they were horribly stubbly afterwards.

Bullying is hard to ignore. I didn't have thick skin at that age.

What does your DD want to do? I would only remove it if thats what she wants to do. If she doesnt (it is quite a faff for an 8 year old) I would be popping into school. As the teasing is something very specific (rather than just youre ugly or youre a bitch) its easier for the teacher to crack down. "If you mention the hair again you're in at break time." Tell your daughter to go to a teacher immediately if it starts up.

Actually, I would go into school either way. This girl needs putting in her place of she will grow up to be a bitch difficult person to be around.

My mum helped me to bleach my top lip with the kits you can buy in Boots or Superdrug when I was that age and had dark hair on my top lip
