Balance/ears/teething

DD is 13 months and keeps tugging and pointing to her ears. She's also snotty and drooling so I had put this down to our old friend, teething. However, we've noticed that in the last few days she's having more falls than ever and seems a bit unsteady on her feet and I wonder if it's something else as her balance seems to have been affected. Trouble is, it's hard to judge because at the same time she's gained so much confidence walking that she's trying to run now and kind of trips herself up. She's absolutely fine otherwise. Any ideas?

Oh and she's also going left and right with her head the whole time - again, don't know if this is to do with her ears/balance or a new dance craze she's learned! Don't want to take her to the docs if it's nothing...

My son is the same age and gets very unbalanced when the teething pain comes on (so do I, ha ha ha!) He's just learning to walk, have had to remove one of his favourite toys (wooden pushalong) as he kept falling over it and hitting his head!

He also tugs ears and shakes head when tired - so it's hard to tell the two apart - but he always wants more sleep when teethy too so I just put him for a nap and he wakes up happier...

Don't know if that's helpful, but good luck :)
