Reins/Harnesses... DS 'swings' on them instead of walking

My DS is 20 mths old and I have just had another baby and need to get DS used to walking more. The problem is he will walk so far then starts leaning forward and swinging on them almost pulling me over. Does anyone have a cure for this or is it something I just have to wait untill he grows out of it. all help greatfully received.

He will grow out of it eventually, 20 months old is still a baby really, maybe his legs are getting tired?

The same thing happened to me. I stopped using reins and just held my son's hand instead.

One of mine did that. I jsut let them drop tot eh floor (gently!) and waited for them to get up again. They soon got fed up with it. just doesn't work if it's been raining.

I did the same as previous poster...he soon got bored of having to pick himself up. hard work but it worked after a few days.

Thanks all for the advice
Hallgerda.. DS wont walk holding my hand for long, he wants to let go and I dont feel comfortable with that.
Kelly and troutpout.. I have tried your method on the odd occaision and feel I should continue with this course of action..
Thanks again.
