What evening activities do you do?

Having watched Honey we're killing the kids tonight I'm getting worried. Most evenings in winter we don't do any physicalactivity at home. By the time dd1 (12) gets home at 4.30 ish and has a good couple of hours of homework there's little time. In summer they are in the garden a lot but in winter it's a different story. Also live down an isolated lane - no friends on hand without pre-organising and too dangerous for bikes. Am I alone? They all do one or 2 activities after school plusdaytime and weekends, but I'm really stuck for anything at home beyond the dance mat! Please advise/help!

We don't do that much during the winter either. We go to the supermarket or the library, but that's only a 2 x 15 minute walk. DS (6) does tennis after school and Woodcraft Folk once a week, so lots of running about then. Football and park at the weekends, or long walks. I also let him play in the schoolyard after school for 10-15 minutes.
