What exactly are you worried about? I mean, what isn't he doing that you think he should be?

At 9 months v. v. few babies have any words. It is no indication of future ability (my ds2 was very advanced verbally by 2 but didn't get his first words til 16/17 mo).

At 9 months v. v. few babies can walk. Yes, some crawl but some never do (not in itself a cause for alarm).

Are all your friends' babies 9 months old (cause a couple of months makes a huge difference at this age). If so, they are a very talented bunch

one is 10 months, one is 8 and a half and another is 9.

I suppose i worry cos its my first! I know i shouldnt compare.

At that age my DD babbled a lot, but didn't say her first word til 11mo.

She crawled at 9.5mo but wasn't standing at that age. They all do things in their own time!

puffy He sounds completely normal. At the last baby group I went one of the 10 months old couldn't even roll over. But nobody is worried about him. They are still just babies.

He sounds completely within normal range to me. It is hard not to compare, especially if he is your first, but babbling is good and the beginning of speech, sitting up is good and he can bear weight on his legs, which is great. Focus on the things he can do, and try not to worry.

DD crawled at 9 months on the dot and now at 10 months on the dot she pulls to standing, cruises and claps. But she still only babbles and has never once rolled over. If she tips over she lies like an upside down beetle waggling her arms and legs. Everything goes into her mouth for sucking and slobbering on. Oh and she still has no teeth.

Your kiddy sounds fine to me. And honestly, things change SO fast. One day they can't do something then next day they can. It's not always a slow learning process. Just relax and enjoy watching the little breakthroughs!
