So it's been 1 1/2 2 weeks DS has not eaten a full proper meal. I am breast feeding and preparing home cooked meals and snacks and have done since he was 6 months. Eating has always been a bit of a task at times and like most babies goes through phases.

example of todays menu:

Half wheat biscuits with full fat milk(he ate 5 spoons)
Slice of brown toast with philly cheese(1 bite)
.... irritable asks for breast

lunch, Cheesey pasta and veg(eats 4 spoons)
eats whole yog pot

offered 1 clementine and 1 banana(eats 1/4 of banana)

Chicken dinner(eats 4-5 spoons)
irritable asks for breast

bit of toast after meal.. cups of water throughout the day, up to three breast feeds lasting 20 mins

this is not enough?! I offer him food all the time and a variety, I'm eating with him at the table and he's really fussy about sitting now and has been for a while.

I have booked GP appointment... does anyone elses baby have a similar eating pattern?

That sounds just like my son when he was that age. I put it down to his growth naturally slowing down so he needed less. Also teething didn't help. We gave up most meals and just offered snack size portions more often. It got better after a while. Now he eats like a horse, he's 17 months.

Yes, DS was like this at that age. He was still breastfed and did try bits and bobs of proper food, but not what you would call a portion. He did gradually eat more as time went on throughout the next 6 months.

At around 13 months it's really common for a previously good eater to go through a fussy stage. Both my DSs did this at the same age and eat anything now. Try not to stress about it!

thanks for the reassurance everyone! I also think it's a stage/teething? Going to try and relax about it, he looks fine, in 25% but has always been a small boy. I guess i look at his diet and i would prefer him to eat more. Hey ho he is a happy boy and just needs more time.

weighing him tomorrow and hope he hasn't lost much weight!

He sounds like he's doing fine, lots of milk which is good, they only need about 25% of there diet to be solids at 12months so he's probably eating more then enough.

DS is just the same and only now at 16months starting to eat a lot more.
