9mo flapping hands and straining

DS has been flapping his arms regularly now for a couple of months. Usually I think it's when he is trying to 'tell' me something (hold eye contacts and makes noises) or when he is excited (spies a toy/food etc). He also sometimes strains (definitely not pooing though) as if he is excited or frustrated about something. Sound normal? Dr Google just frightened me with autism links...

Try not to worry as he is so young. If he's holding eye contact and trying to communicate that's great and much more notable than a touch of flapping which is actually incredibly common.

I have two flapping nieces who are clearly NT and delightful.

I have a DS with severe autism who I don't think has ever flapped in his life (but is also delightful).

Step away from google and try to enjoy him.
