Screeching 14 month DD

My DD has started screeching to get my attention and I hate it! So I am wondering how do I get her to stop?

It isn't a continuous screech more often it is to get my attention and yes it does work? I am trying to give her the attention she wants without responding to the screech.

I will add that she gets lots of 'mummy time' and is a very well attended to little girl so I do not feel that failing to meet her needs but that she is experimenting with her 'voice' and what works. I don't want her to think this is a good way to communicate.

So what should I do...

Ignore her totally... I guess she's learnt that she can get your reaction by screeching. It's bloody hard but you have to compose yourself and ignore it totally. Like not even acknowledging her presence. It sounds cruel, but unless she's in pain she's just using what she's learned to get your attention.
