refusing night time bottle and constantly sucking labels on toys

My DD is 14 month old and has always had a good bedtime routine {bath, bottle, bed you all know the one}. now she is refusing her bed time bottle and has become REALLY fixated on sucking labels on toys and teddies. She has never had a dummy and has never sucked her thumb. She has always liked sucking labels but now its constant. Any clues any one?

I wouldn't worry about it, it's just a comfort thing (instead of a dummy/thumb, she's chosen labels). Not worth stressing about IMO.

DS2 was like this, and settled on his teddies label as being his preferred one - it was a loop shape, so he'd put a finger through it then suck the end of the material.
Teddy needed several "label transplants" as DS got upset when he chewed through them (as he couldn't put his finger through the broken loop), couldn't/wouldn't sleep without it........ he grew out of it at about 4, 4 1/2yo and is a perfectly normal teen now.

Thanks very much. Have put the bottle refusal down to not needing the comfort any more (little sob). They grow up too quick. Glad to hear label transplants are an option lol

lol All the backsides of my DS's cuddly toys are sopping wet and minging from where he sucks the labels! It can really be quite embarrassing. He's never had a dummy or sucked his thumb either.
