I try not to react to naughty stuff and praise the good stuff... But when you get a wet flannel from bath and an 18 month old yelling "catch" ...umm it gets a bit of a screech from me which he finds the most hilarious thing on earth..

"This Time Shall Pass"??

Don't give him a flannel?

How do you wash hair and bum?

Your hands/sponge...or you could use a flannel and not give it to him. Or does he snatch?

Ds does this as well. It is annoying but really its not going to hurt you! He loves any kind of stupid noises I make so you have to be a bit zen about this stuff I reckon, to avoid them enjoying it too much.

When he starts this or pouring water on the floor from a bucket / plastic bottle, I tell him its making a mess that has to be cleared up, remove to a high shelf if he keeps it up, show him something else fun he can play with instead (eg make one of the bath squirter animals slurp up some water with sound effects).

As soon as anything gets thrown, toy or flannel, or water is poured out of the tub, child gets one warning and then is removed from said tub. Even if not totally washed.

gamerwidow · 26/02/2012 13:06

I think I'd probably just throw it back and join in the game, it's only water after all what harm is it going to do?
I'm of the opinion that you pick your battles and this wouldn't be 'naughty' enough for me to come down hard on.

smearedinfood · 26/02/2012 20:27

I was having difficulty telling him off because I saw the humour in it and so was he...
I like the one warning and you are out policy.
He appears to have forgotten about it tonight so I am not damp Grin
