11 month old screams and tantrums

My 11 month old ds has recently started screaming at things, either when he doesn't get his own way or gets frustrated with toys etc. It's a really high-pitched scream and trying to ignore it doesn't seem to make any difference (as hv said!). Any ideas on what to do to get this to stop? Please.....

my 16 month discovered this technique last month. Its really hard, especially in public. At home i try to ignore him totally when he does it and praise him lots when he doesn't do it!

i just ignore it. he won't just stop doing it... but he will eventually realise that it doesn't get your attention and he'll find other ways of expressing himself.
they all do it

same here with my 15 mths old as she had been having tantrums since she was 11.5 mths old but is doing alot better now and doesnt scream as much as it was all down to ignoring and only praise her when she is good as she gets lots of kissies from me xxxx

My DS1 did this. Used to head bang walls and floors too. He was an awful awful toddler up til he was 2 1/2 and then was a pure delight. Got it over and done with I think. Can't really stop them, just go with the flow, ignore, distract. Grit your teeth! and smile sweetly as all mums do!
