10 month old pulling hair

Hi there, was just wondering if any one has some ideas what to do to stop my little one pulling hair and pinching/ scratching your face. I pull her hand away and say no! But most the time she will do it again even harder like she knows what she is doing. If I'm holding her and she does it I put her down. She will then cry with temper! She does it to everyone! : (

Pull the hair back from her, quite hard, its what i had to do with my little boy and say OWWW That hurt mummy! Eventually they get the message. He sued to pull it tothe point he was actually pulling it out. Dont gently just push it away, literally pull it out of her hands, or the other option, is to leave it up. He knows now, he can play with mummys hair but that is all is allowed and no longer pulls my hair.

In my experience its just a phase. I just kept the finger nails cut short and my hair tied back and and waited it out.

My DS used to do it but at 6m old. I used the no tactic everytime, I would even tell other people he did it to, to say no and remove him. It worked, now at 11m he no longer pulls hair and also understands what no means in any situation.

Just persevere with the no and remove tactic. It takes time but you'll get there :)

My baby has always pulled hair since he was born. Obviously at first he didn't know what he was doing, but he continues to do it now. He also pinches and scratches.
I do tell him no, but doesn't work at moment. He still does it. And if I say owww he laughs and does even more.

Wear a swimming cap, cut nails and keep your hair well away.

Thanks for everyones comments Smile
I always have my hair tied back but that doesn't stop her. I guess I'll have to stick with the no tactic and tell everyone else to do the same. I'm going back to work soon and she will be looked after by a family member who has a little girl 3 months older. She pulls her hair as soon as she's close to her. I really hope she grows out of it soon!

Yes unfortunately I have a hair puller too and it's no fun, especially as I have to watch her so so closely when we're around other children at toddler groups etc. When she does it to me, I say oww, that hurts Mummy and promptly put her down where she cries. If she does it to another child I remove her and sit her in any available space away from people. I don't see what else I can do for now. She's 15 months old. I really hope its a short lived phase for us both.
