How to deal with rowdy 8 year old.

I'm really struggling to cope with my 8 year old ds. He's very noisy and boisterous. Shouts instead of talk, teases his 3 year old ds. We live in a smallish house which makes it worse. He bashes into things, eats like a pig, sometimes poos in the toilet and 'forgets' to flush, wets the toilet when he wees. He never seems to be able to sit still. I can go on and on, but I'm desperate, I'm so exhausted. Sometimes I just need some peace and quiet, but I only dream of that! Merely watching him climb over the whole place tires me out and makes my blood boil over. I know I'm ranting a bit, but I'm really at my wits end. My Dh works till late and he's tired all the time too! I think I spend more time trying to calm him down that I think I'm not taking the time to enjoy him. Help pls... Anyone !

I have this aswell. And now both ds1(8) and ds2(3) seem unable to speak in a normal voice, only a very loud one.
Will try and get more physical exercise in. We have a trampoline and he does karate. but we have not walked to school because of all the snow and raining permanently (!!). so hopefully will be able to do that more.

I've heard a theory that they shout more at the start of holidays because they're used to making themselves heard in class, so it might improve?

Definitely plenty of exercise needed. Take a flask of coffee to the park.
Re-read Mr Noisy and have a whispering competition?
