hitting in the night during sleep

my 3yr old - all of sudden started hitting us. may be he is dreaming, we tried waking him up and pampering him but then he cries, we prefer to not to wake him up and make him sleep by telling stories and singing.... during day time he most of the time prefers to be alone.. at a time mood wise tell us that I dont like you etc.. worried for him

maybe he needs his own space now. Does he have his own bed?

No. he is still protected by us. both of us are working and grand mother takes care of him. at a time we feel he is full of attitude and not very keen on making friends too..
