Daytime naps for 10 months old

DD2 is 10 month old and I wonder what are average nap times through the day. She gets up between 7.30-8.00 am and goes to bed at 7.00 am (on the dot). She has two naps per day, one usually around 10.30-11.00 am and the other 'some time in the afternoon'. I've forgotten what DD1 was like and can't remember when they make the transition to one longer nap through the day. Today she's been awake since just before 3.00pm and she does not appear to be overly tired. This is a different story to last week however when she needed to sleep until nearer 4.00pm to get her through the last 3 hours.

ds is getting towards one nap and he's 14mo. I don't think they do it much before 12mo (going on my extensive experience of... erm... one baby).

there was a sim thread recently about babies goihjg to one nap from two
think it depends on child - dd1 stopped at 1 but dd2 is 13 months and stil has 2 naps at about the times you mentioned, and she still goes to bed at 7 and gets up at about 630 or 7

And your problem is? My dd 11 months goes to bed at anywhere between 7.30 and 10pm, gets up at..oooh, about 10pm, 3am and 5.30ish and 8amish. Has NO naps of any kind at home, though may condescend to go to sleep in the car or the buggy at awkward times, and wake immediately either of them stop.
So in short I am extremely and think you should be counting your many blessings!

Aloha, don't think there was a need for that tone, I didn't say I had a problem, I was merely asking whether 10 month old babies usually have two naps per day, or whether they are due to make the transition to one longer nap.

some babies have 2 naps up till they are 18 months old. My dd started going to one nap around 11 months (which was a bit too early for me!!). At the start some days she had 2 but others she had 1 depending on how long the nap lasted i.e. if it was a short nap she needed another one later on.

You're right aviatrix, it is hard to tell a person's tone from the typed word, and if I have misinterpreted aloha's comments, then I apologise to her.

Good God yes, I'm absolutely sick with envy! Consumed with it! Aaargh! Now, go away and stop torturing the owners of vampire sleep-sucking babies with your unspeakably well-behaved models!
