Why does DS think its hilarious to slap me in the face every evening??

DS was 2 last month. He doesn't normally slap me or DP in the face during the day and he doesn't do it to anyone else either. However just as I'm putting him into bed and wanting a nice cuddle and kiss, he slaps me on the nose instead and finds it hilarious.

Clearly I don't find it hilarious. Is this common and how do I get DS to stop doing it?

At about that age, when I got to a certain page of a particular book DS2 would slap me in the face! The book was full of nonsense words, so none of them 'encouraged' it, but it was just a habit he got into and he too thought it was the funniest thing ever.

It sounds like the fact that your DS is saving it til bedtime, he sees it as a little part of your bedtime routine, but I know how annoying it is for you.

Try explaining before he gets in to bed that you won't be able to give him a kiss and cuddle if you're worried about getting a smack instead. Might seem harsh but I presume you've tried telling him that its unkind and that it hurts etc. so maybe seeing you withdraw your affection might get the message home that its unacceptable.

That's what I'd do, but I am a bit heartless quite strict.
