My daughter cries at one particular relative

Hi All,

This is my first post - I have reached maximum embarassment levels!
My daughter (21 months) screams at my Aunty and Uncle everytime she sees them - uncontrollable tears, until we leave (can be for over 2 hours)
She is a very outgoing and independant girl and will happily chat to strangers and friends alike and is not normally shy.
She has never been alone with them and has been doing it since she was around one (maybe before)
It is getting very awkward at family gatherings and I am so embaressed.
Any ideas on what the problem could be and what we can do?

Hello. My DS did this with my uncle. He grew out of it. So not sure what to suggest. Just keep beng around them but let your DD go to them and talk, not having people up in your face can ba scary

DD used to do this with my brother -it turned out she was scared of his huge, dark beard. It really freaked her out.

Anything 'different' about them that she might find scary?

Nothing different really, the only thing i can think of is white hair! As she also freaks out at father christmas.
Defo not beards tho as her grandads and my brother both have one of those!
Thanks - its good to know i am not alone!

My cousin did this with my Dad for years! She's 48 now, he's 67 and she can't remember it at all whereas he hasn't quite forgiven her! Apparently it was mortifying!
