6mth disturbed sleep

Hi all!
DS is 6 months old, we moved him from crib to cot 2 week ago (still in our room). He used to sleep 7-7 without fail. Since then, he is fine to go to bed, but later wakes up in a panic. I have tried, reassuring him, leaving him in the cot, picking him out putting him back in, rocking him back to sleep. He continuously wales theough the night every 10-15 min. We changed him over as he no longer fit in the crib.
I am not back at work, lacking sleep.
The easiest way to get him to sleep is putting him in bed with me. Which I do NOT like as again, I get no sleep.

Any ideas of how to help with this?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure on the current advice on them, but try cot bumpers so that he can't see out, and maybe put a rolled up towel round the edges so if he moves much he bumps into them and thinks he's in the basket?

If he wakes up in a panic it may be that he doesn't recognise where he is? Do you put him in his cot while he's still awake? If not, then start doing so, that way when he wakes up in the night he'll know where he is and how to put himself to sleep again. And when he wakes up, try to keep him in his cot. If you start picking him up and rocking him to sleep, that's what he'll expect every time / need in order to fall asleep again.
