potty training, ia this normal?!

We have now started potty training properly. DS has been using the toilet on and off for a while but I've decided to bite the bullet and stay in for a few days and try and sort it once and for all.

DS doing ok. He is 2.8 and is wearing his pants. So far no accidents. However he is going to the toilet at least once every half an hour! Is that normal?! He doesn't drink loads so am wondering if it is just because he is used to going whenever rather than holding on. He needs to go too as it is a proper wee each time, not just a few drops. Sorry, tmi.

If it carries on like this we will never be able to leave the house or be more than twenty mins from a toilet!

Is it usual to go a lot at first?

Hello, mine 'went' a lot initially but were not 'going' as such, the novelty should wear off soon enough but if he still is actually going that much in a week it do may be worth a trip to gp (unless he drinks a lot which one of mine does!)

Try leaving the house? So he gets used to holding on a bit? It does seem a bit frequent, might be worth getting him checked out to put your mind at rest. Also try giving him big drinks to try to expand his bladder. Obviously don't make him wet himself, but it sounds like he's doing great. Also get a travel potty for when your out and about.

Do you reward him for going on the toilet/potty?If so it is amazing how often they can produce a wee for a chocolate button :)
