Hungry or seeking attention?

Hi. My 3.8 year old routinely gets out of bed saying that he's hungry despite having his tea and then introduction of supper. Am trying to ignore him but obviously I want to feed him if he says he's hungry! tis driving me as bit mad...Any advice?

I'd give him something boring like buttered bread. If he's attention seeking he'll get sick of it.

Does he haves sippy cup of water by his bed, so he can quench his thirst?

If he's eating well all day, I'd offer him a biscuit or banana immediately before bed, but other than that stand firm.

Put a banana by his bed - tell him if he's hungry he can eat it but he is not to get out of bed or leave his room.

My ds same age has milk and dry cereal ( cheerios ) immediately before bed now as we were having same problem he also has bottle of water by his bed at night : )

With mine it is usually a ploy.

I used to offer them plain bread and butter and water and eat it quick and boring, straight to bed - when they were the age of yours.

Now at 4.5 I ask lots of times between supper and bed if still hungry, if the answer is no then tough, they should have said something earlier.

The water and banana by his bed are a good idea. Have stood.firm this evening and just ignored him when he said he was hungry this evening. he'd had his tea and a bowl of porridge for supper. Think he's just seeing what he can get me to do...:-)

It's a ploy. You need to stand firm.
