Hi I have 10 month old twin boys who are extremly mobile they love being outside and having a good crawl around. The problem is is that they put EVERYTHING in their mouths.... including grass and dirt, will this hurt them in anyway??
I obviously stop them when I see them doing it...but they just crawl off and do it again.... its a constant battle....If it wont hurt them then I wont be so paranoid about it....

I love them exploring and they love being outside so just want to be able to relax about the whole thing....

Thanks,....! :) .

mostly no it won't. Obviously check the area for dog poo, broken glass or whatever but they're pretty easy to see. They will eat stuff, might even have an occasional upset tummy but I am all for a relaxed approach to this sort of thing. they also grow out of this quite quickly. DS is 2.5 and only puts cake in his mouth now Smile

When he was about 11 months old my DS2 got diarrhea that didnt clear up despite treatment. A stool test revealed that he had picked up a germ found in soil (cant remember the details as it was 26 years ago), and I was told there was no actual treatment for it but that it would work its way out of his system in about 3 weeks, which it did.

He didnt show any sign of illness apart from soiled nappies about 6 times per day, but I remember it particularly well as there were no disposable nappies where we lived, and I didnt even have a washing machine...
