4yo dd suddenly sobbing before preschool

I think this might be my first post - I'm not sure, but I really don't know what to do....

My dd has been going to the same preschool since Sep 10 - she's starting school in Sep just before her 5th birthday. She has been fine going to school until about 2 weeks ago - she went back fine after Xmas, but then 2 little girls banged heads, and one of them cut her head - a lot of blood apparently! My dd was nowhere near them (they were outside, she was in), but since then, she has been obsessed with bleeding. If she bangs her head even a little bit, she asks if it's going to bleed, and then asks every 5 minutes for the next couple of hours 'has it started to bleed'?.

Coupled with this, she now breaks her heart every time I take her to preschool, just sobbing and clinging to me. I've tried reassuring her, but just wondered if anyone else has been through this... or if you had any suggestions on how to console her.....

Have you discussed this with the pre-school?
It might be that they need to talk it through with her (once she has settled) show her the 2 little girls are ok etc. Have the other children been discussing it making it more dramatic in retrospect and she's got all a bit bothered by it?
That's not very helpful is it, but I couldn't leave you unanswered!

thank you! It's appreciated.

She was still bad yesterday, but not so bad today. I was going to see how she was the rest of the week, and then maybe suggest that we all sit down together to reassure her.

I'm still getting the constant questions about bleeding - she's obviosuly been very affected by it...
