7.5 mo waking loads at night

My 7.5 mo has only slept through the night a handful of times. He used to wake only once or twice a night but for the past two weeks he been up 4-8 times a night. Usually he just needs his dummy and he'll go right back to sleep. When this started he had a cold but he now over that and still waking. I don't feed when he wakes and I only pick him up if he's really crying hard. Could it be the dummy? Should I try to get rid of it? If so how? Thanks!

Could be teething? Ds got his first tooth at that age, think its the average age.

Its supposed to be worse at night as they have no distractions from the pain.

Will try some calpol before bed and see if that helps. Thanks!

Couple nights of calpol and no joy. We are in the process of weaning him off the dummy so that is not helping either. If the dummy wean doesn't work I'm not sure what else to try. Thanks!
