Nail biting

One of my very almost 2 year old DTs bites her nails. If she's not busy doing stuff (which she obviously often is) she'll have her fingers in her mouth. Or busy with one hand, other hand in her mouth. I try not to mention it so not to draw attention but should I be trying to stop her or hope she'll lose interest? Been going on a couple of months probably. Would that horrible tasting nail biting stuff be too mean?

Bumping.

Had to cut one DTs nails today and the other nail biters were chewed right down.

I know it's not the most serious problem but if any one has any advice/suggestions I'd be grateful. Thanks.

She still needs to soothe orally. Can you give her something?

Oh, that hadn't crossed my mind actually. It's only a habit she's started in the last few months. When you say give her something what do you mean? She's breastfed morning and evening, sleeps with a blanket and dummy but wouldn't be interested in those during the day. She often sucks the corner of her blanket.
Thanks for your reply.

By the way, she's not sucking her fingers/thumb, she's definitely biting her nails.
