DS (2 1/2) suddenly finds it very funny to say wee wee and poo poo and to call people wee wee or poo poo heads. The thing is - we never went through this with dd - so is it just a boy thing?

nope
dd went thorugh this when she was three - but only in the company of older children which is where presumably she picked it up
not much now and she's nearly 4.5
I just ignored it and didnt' draw attention to it

My Ds has not done this - however my darling little neice has called me poohead before, so don't think it's a boy thing.

Sugarmag · 17/01/2006 10:47

oh well. I know it's a phase he'll grow out of - the only problem is I find it really hard to keep a straight face and tell him off when he does it! He did it last night and I told him that was a naughty thing to say but seeing as I was laughing at the time I'm not sure he believed me!.

I say it back to them

Redtartanlass · 17/01/2006 10:58

Sugarmag - I don't actually thing it is a phase they do grow out of They just move on from Poo to sh*

DS1 (20 years old) has rude voice tags on his mobile, so if you say for example sh*head, it dials up his mate!!

Mind you, when he showed me, I did think it was highly amusing!!! So as with all parenting, I've only got myself to blame!!!

Bugsy2 · 17/01/2006 11:05

My ds is 6 and still finds it hilarious. I've done school runs in the car, with him & his friends and as far as I can tell, they all find it absolutely side splitting!
DD, will giggle along but she never initiates those sorts of conversations.

Sugarmag · 17/01/2006 12:37

Oh no, you mean it's not a phase?

Mine is 5 in April and absolutely loves talking about poo, changing song lyrics to incorporate 'hilarious' references to poo (eg, Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall, Humpty Dumpty did a big poo....). One of his best female friends loves talking about it too! DS does have some toileting issues, but his friend doesn't--so I think it's just a phase...

lucy5 · 17/01/2006 13:45

They all go through it, my little brother used to have a little song, poobum, willy, willy, poobum bum!
my dd 5 has started to use poohead and poobrain when shes angry.

Meanoldmummy · 17/01/2006 13:51

No, my dh and I do it incessantly People distance themselves from us in public, but we don't care

Sugarmag · 17/01/2006 15:55
