Hello, I'd be grateful for advice with the following problem, if anyone else has similar experience...
For the past two nights my previously great sleeper DD has screamed and cried and absolutely refused to go to sleep without either me or my DH beside her bed.
She seemed to have a bad dream on Monday night but resettled fairly quickly and went to sleep fine on Tuesday night. The problems started Wednesday night when she didn't drop off until 9pm (usually asleep by 7pm) - she did then sleep through, however. Last night she fought sleep until 8pm but then woke up at about 2am and didn't go back to sleep (in our bed...) until approaching 4am.
We haven't changed her bedtime routine, nothing else has changed in her life and so she isn't unsettled there. Nursery haven't reported any problems through the day - she's eating, drinking and playing as normal. She has bath, story, prayers and into bed - this has all remained the same for months and yet she's suddenly seemingly terrified of getting into bed. We've tried to reassure her and have given one of her teddies the special role of looking after DD and all her other toys, and we've told her to think about Peppa Pig when going to sleep but nothing has worked.
Sorry, this has turned into an essay! Any advice really would be gratefully received as it's been so sudden and severe that we're really at a loss as to what to do.
