My 9yr old dd is showing signs of starting her periods - we're talking about it in very small doses, lead by her, but I was wondering if there was any reading material that anyone can recommend that we can read through together. She is a little shy about it and so I don't want to give too much information if she isn't ready for it - but thought a book might a good chance for us to have quiet time together or she can read at her own speed.

DD showed signs from 9 years old but hasn't actually started yet (she's 10y 3m now). It's good to prepare them though, in stages like you are doiong. Usborne do a good puberty book you could give her to access at her own speed. Also check out the Lilets teen site.

9!!!! Sorry I have no advice but I am most interested in the links. Dd will be 8 in 2 months - I thought I had YEARS before I had to think about these things! Dd does have a book about bodies and changes etc but she hasn't been that interested in it too date.
