Teething/mouth ulcers

My 7 month old has two bottom teeth and ever since they surfaced it's been a nightmare, they have given her a large ulcer under her tongue which reduced her feeding and she started losing weight, at only 9lbs 6oz she can't afford this and is now on high calorie milk and gaining weight. This started before Christmas and she still has the ulcer under her tongue and now pretty much the whole of her lower lip is ulcer, they often bleed and feeding is painful, she has started sucking on her lower lip which makes her writhe in agony but she still keeps doing it. We have tried teething bonjela, calpol, Nystan for thrush, Calcium Carbonate from the homeopath, Diflam spray to numb the pain for feeding-although have stopped using this as when numb she can bite more freely. I am absolutely desperate now, help!

Hi it sounds awful for her poor thing!
I have been fortunate that my first two sons teethed very easily but ds3 is the opposite. I have no experience of teething ulcers but I do know that putting the teething gel in their mouth just before feeding can actually numb their mouth and make it harder to teeth.
Are any of the ulcers bumps where other teeth are coming? If so a finger toothbrush is great for them to have a really good chew and might help teeth come through.
Have you seen the dr about it?
Teething rings that go in the fridge to get really cold (the gel ones) might help the sore bits?
Not sure this helps that much!!! Hopefully someone else might have more ideas

Sorry mistype - gel in mouth before feed can make it harder to feed!

Thank you cherub 59, I think/ hope she sucks her lower lip because her top teeth are coming through and when they do she will stop this lip-self harming otherwise I think she actually might bite through! I did get a gel teething ring but am staying with my Mum in the back of beyond and the only one they have is too big for her little mouth, however I am having some success with the end of her rubber spoon. Also since stopping with the numbing spray, it does look a tiny bit better. I took her to the children's hospital because of the weight loss at Christmas and they gave me the numbing spray and stuff for thrush, but I don't think it is thrush will give anything a try. Will look out for finger toothbrush.

Hi babyhandsup, I'm wondering what happened to your baby and their tongue in the end? Going through something very similar here for the past week. Thanks
