In Germany ( where I live ) they tell you to stop sterilising once the baby is crawling around putting anything she finds in her mouth.. I simply wash the bottles thoroughly with hot water and special washing liquid from Nuk ( not sure whether it is available in the UK ).

My DD was 1 yesterday and I have stopped sterilising, I just wash the bottles thoroughly. I have replaced the formula with the same amount of cows milk.

I am now gonna try getting her to take some of her milk from a cup.

my dd is 12mths and i just wash thoroughly in hot soapy water, my dp still puts them in the sterileser occasionally, maybe once a week? she still has first stage formula, i think from one yr they need 12oz of milk a day (dd has 16oz) and that can be cows milk and can also be made up with cheese, yog etc as well :)
