My DD is 11mo, i must admit life hasnt been that easy recently, she seems to be so frustrated and wants to walk that she just seems grumpy most of the time, im sure this is a phase but its really getting me down, i spend all day reading, playing, singing songs etc but it just doesnt seem to cheer her up.
Has anyone got any similar experiences, I suppose I am just looking for abit of re assurance. :)

It gets easier Smile.

DS is 18 months and looking back the just-pre-walking was very hard as you say, due to frustration. Once they can get around there are so many corners of the house they can get into and explore. Make your low level cupboards baby safe and you can leave them to pulling it all out when you need a sit down or to make a phone call (or MN obviously).

Mind you, then it is the next thing as they are frustrated as they can't communicate what they want...

Thanks Albrecht, everything just seems a battle at the moment and feels like it is never going to end!!

Yes, it does get easier! Though there will be other battles ahead - i always find the times they're frustrated about not being able to do what they want (crawling, walking, talking etc) the worst as there's so little you can do to help them.

My DS spent the week before sooo frustrated about not being able to crawl, and drove me up the wall with whinging when i put him down - now driving me up the wall by practising crawling everywhere (especially around his cot at 4am)and getting into everything

It does get easier. My DS got cranky pre mobile stage, but then he was on the move and happy. Child proof now! (not after like me on thinking they'd just follow me around - everything in your house is up for exploration - even your tampons Blush. From my point of view every 3 months your child is vastly different from 3 months earlier. This soon shall pass...

Hi there,
I don't know if it gets easier, but if it helps, my DD is also 11 months and she is exactly the same. I'm finding it all quite hard work at the moment too. She is also trying to walk and trying to pull up all the time on everything, including things that really aren't appropriate so can't let her out of sight for a second. She is also very clingy at the moment.
I've found she is much happier if I get her out of the house although weather has been miserable lately, she even seems enjoys going to the supermarket and sitting in the trolley and is also much calmer at play groups etc, so my advise is just to get out as much as you can!
