Please stop my 7 mo screaming

Just in this past week, my 7 month old has started screaming at every opportunity. A high pitched scream is his answer to everything. If he is hungry: scream. Sad, angry, happy, playful, everything just results in a scream. The neighbours probably think we are killing him.

I know it is probably just a new noise to him, and when he discovers another new noise that will take over, but is there anything I can do to expedite this? My eardrums thank you in anticipation!

My 6 month old is the same, I think it is just a practise for talking. Drives me mad though I can't even hear the telly Grin

It doesnt get better I'm afraid!

DD is now 16 months and still does it...

Oh the screaming, squarking, growling, shouting!!! My poor head and my poor neighbours hahaha.
It's ok until someone comes up to her in a supermarket as says "Oh isn't she lovely" to which she'll produce the most horrendous growling sound! ;0)

oh gosh, we had this at 8 months. For about 6 weeks. I used to say at baby groups "oh, she keeps screeching" and other mums would say, "Oh, yes, mine does/did that". And then she would scream and they would just look at me in pity and say, "oh".
We found that not giving her any attention when she did it helped a bit but eventually it just went away. Sympathy, though, it was a very grating phase!

BabySilvertooth · 04/01/2012 20:50

I am glad to know he is "normal", I will grit my teeth then. We have been trying to withhold attention when he screams, but it is difficult as he is so loud.

Haha Cockle, I would love to meet your DD in the supermarket. Xmas Grin
