Gah. Post- christmas comedown?

My dd is 4.10 and has been lovely over Christmas. She is usually a real handful so it's been great to be able to enjoy it all and relax a bit with her.

We'd arranged to meet a friend at soft play this afternoon and my dd was vile. Refused to say hello or goodbye, refused to play with her friend or let her join in when she made a new friend. She then had a huge tantrum when it was time to leave (despite me giving her plenty of warning).

I've handled it badly and ended up shouting at her in the car on the way home so she just shouted back even louder Sad. I've now sent her to her room while we both cool off.

It feels like such a kick in the teeth after we've had such a lovely time over the holidays.

Is anyone's child else suffering with post- Christmas comedown. A least that's what I'm hoping it is!

My kids are 2, 4 and 6. They were all lovely over the Xmas period, despite the upheaval in routine (staying away from home, long car journeys, meals and naps all over the place). Today they have all been horrid! I was feeling sad about them going back to school but not any more!!

Yes, fab behaviour generally over holiday followed by a high grump factor and crying today. Oh well, one day out of 2 weeks ain't bad Grin.
