My 11 yr old still chews the neck of his t-shirt when he's on the computer!

to be honest, i wouldnt worry too much about it....i used to have a thing for chewing my necklace til i was 14 .......chewing sleeves was a phase too..... cant really give you more ..sorry!

Lots of kids do this, my son 13 really winds me up with the pull part on zips, always in his mouth. I cut the plastic bit off his coat to stop him doing it.

no no worms. she did have a dummy till she was almost 4, and still wants one now when she is ill.

Dd2 ate the cuff of her cardi the other week, it looked a right mess.

She also asks for a dummy when ill, but she knows she can't have one.

DS1 used to do this all the time - clothes, zips, anything. It stopped when I changed his diet, but so did lots of other things. I can tell when he's had too much of something he reacts to foodwise because he starts chewing his sleeves again (and coughs, gets a red rash round mouth and starts to behave like a PITA).

Don't think all chewing is food intolerance, though, but it was fascinating to find out that it was in DS1's case.
