This will be a mega stupid post to those mums with older kids!

Basically both my children are born in the beginning of the year. We have had the typical influx of Christmas presents, replacing all the old toys (which have been played with for a year). My DD, aged nearly 3 is excited about her and her brothers new toys. She wants mummy to play exclusively with her, with the new toys. My DS, nearly 1, is only recently mobile and scoots around the floor playing with whatever DD is interested in.

I would love some advice of how to convince my DD to play nicely with her brother (if this is poss?), and how to play with them both at the same time. Every time DS is involved in a game it ends in grabbing, knocking over of key players etc... DD doesn't want to play 'baby games', as they're 'too boring!'. Also doesn't want to play on her own, as again, too boring!

I'm sure every other mother worth her salt would have worked this one out by now Confused

hey, Don't be so hard on yourself!! You're dealing with two kids, under three yrs old and that's something!! The tactic I'd try would be, to play with your DD and her new toys, say, for a half hour, and give your DS his toys too, possibly in the same room! If he engages, then its great, but if he toddles over to the two of you playing, give him and big-sis a cuddle, and get him to sit with you, and play. If you think its getting too boisterous for DD, then try taking them out to the park or something and play with DD later, when the little one is snoozing!! also, gently encourage her to take turns and play with DS, so that they both have fun! Make a video or something on your phone, or take pics! : )
