my little boy wont stop scratching himself! Its mainly around his waist, all around his bely button is scared and cut as he draws blood no matter how short his nails are.
He also does it to his chest and face. We put scratch mits on him alot of the time but hes approaching the age where he needs to try and grab things so we need to know why hes doing it toget him to stop!

mine all did that to their faces.
they were never naked long enough to do it to the rest of themselves tho!

never really found a solution tbh, they just stopped eventually.

does his skin look/feel ok though? not dry or anytthing?

Poor wee fella! My DD did the same to her face. Like TIY, I didn't come up with a solution. It passed, but until it did I cut her finger nails every day :)

Thanks, hope it passes for him too! :-)

My ds did this too these things worked and now he hardly does it al all- we put a handfull of oats in his bath every time. Just pop them in a muslin and tie with an elastic band then pop in the bath . Rub the white milk on to their skin and especially the goo. Dont rub them with towel after, just pat dry. Also we now wash all his clothes andbedding with eco balls , can get them online. They dont have any chemicals in which can really irritate skin. Also we tried eliminating cerrtain foods from his diet as well as mine - i breasty gfeed so the things i eat pass through to him. We found that any citrus made his itching worse and also kiwi, pineapple, and cows milk but not cheese. Also there is a helpful website called itchy baby i think. Know how distressing it is to have a baby do this i really feel for you. Try some of these suggestions and maybe something will help. Best of luck x

That should have read 'breast feed' bloomin phone.
Also we dont use any soap or shampoo on our ds as it made itchiing worse.

My 3.5 month old ds scratches his face and head because of dry skin. We now have to put moisturiser on him 3 times a day as prescribed by the dr. Initially we also had to use a steroid cream too as the dry skin caused a rash. But all over the body sounds more like what mebythesea said.
