Teething nappy rash???? Help!

I have a 14 month old dd who has 12 teeth & is currently cutting her top incisors. She has never been troubled by good old teething poo but at the minute has been having, essentially diarrhoea several times a day. Her bottom is raw, literally. I also now believe she has thrush too and she is on treatment for that too. (She was on antibiotics over Christmas) It has been suggested that she may have a temporary lactose intolerance as the diarrhoea has been going on for about 2 weeks & as she's never been attected this way with teething before.

I'm really wondering if anyone could enlighten me a little with regard to:

  1. How bad can teething poo really be & can it go on this long?
  2. If it's a lactose intolerance, how quickly should we see a difference when we trial her off dairy for a while?
  3. Does anyone know of a magic cure for her poor bum. Currently using the prescription cream for thrush & before that was sudocrem and metanium.

Poor little girl :( I had similar rash problems with DS but not the poo problems as bad as your little one. I bathed DS with some olive oil in the bath - kept skin moist and soothed the rash a little too. Take her back to the GP asap to get some stronger cream. Hope she ge better soon x

Try colief, it's a lactase enzyme replacement, if no different after 5 days try dairy free entirely. Oat milk, vitalite spread, no fromage frais etc. Muller little stars do fruit jellies too, my DD is cmp intolerant.

Baths in pure water, no bathtime bubbles or anything. And as much nappy off time as you dare/ have time for prior to applying the cream. I usually let my DS have some bare bum time every time i change his nappy and first thing in the morning and before he gets in/ when he gets out of the bath in the evening.

Matana, I almost laughed out loud at the nappy off time. Had some of that this morning and30 seconds later the carpet paid the price!!! Thank goodness for 1001 carpet cleaner! All really good advice, thanks. Have got appt at out of hours doc later. At least they may put my mind at rest that there's not something else I'm missing! Think maybe if I can some colief it could be as good a place as any to start. Have started holding back the dairy and she's really missing her milk. Got a very funny look first thing when she was presented with a beaker of water.

Forgot about colief - used it it with DS and it was fab! Try also putting a large plastic bag on the floor and a towel over it - kind of watr proofs the carpet ;)
