Can't stop rolling over during tummy time

My daughter is 11 weeks old. Whenever we put her down for tummy time she can't seem to stay on her front, she rolls on to her side then on to her back. I'm not trying to say she's really advanced and doing it on purpose! It's more like she can't keep her balance. She will have her head and chest off the ground then try to move her hands which makes her fall over.

Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds perfectly normal to me :)

Don't worry about it. She won't fail all her GCSEs or explode or anything if she doesn't get 'tummy time' Smile

I've never bothered with it with mine, just allowed them loads of time on the floor to learn to roll both ways in their own time.

When my DD learnt to roll she wouldn't stay on her tummy either. She got to the stage when she was rolling all over the room instead of crawling, but then started crawling at 9.5months. They all do it in their own time, and as your DD is rolling already she sounds pretty strong. She will just be practicing the new skill that she has.

Thank you all :)

I'm not sure she is practising it though, she seems annoyed when it happens. She'll be looking at a toy and is then suddenly on her back after wobbling all over the place. I'm just not sure if I should keep turning her back or hold her steady in her front..

Don't forget, she needs to learn about how to keep her balance, how to move her arms out from underneath her so she doesn't roll over and doesn't yet know how to counterbalance any accidental rolling over actions.

Be a rebel- don't do tummy time at all!
