My DD (now 3.9) didn't crawl until she was 11 months and got her first tooth at around 8.5 mths. She is happy, healthy and bright as a button! Her friend who is the same age didn't crawl until she was about the same age and didn't get any teeth until she was 15mths!

Not at all bad. DS crawled at 8.5 months and was one of the first among his "friends" at the time. DD didn't move at all until 10.5 months which was very nice :)

I can't remember when either of them got teeth Blush but I know other children have definitely not got teeth until after their first birthdays and are fine.

It is very exciting when they do new things :)

Same here - my now 3.3 yr old crawled for the first time at 11 months and did not walk till she was 14 months. She's great, fine and totally normal. Enjoy it - I would sit there with DD cooing at me whilst other mummy friends legged it after their escaping crawlers!

DD got first tooth at 15 mo!

mumatron · 01/01/2012 20:49

Dd1 had her first tooth at 18 month.

All my dc have been early movers but by god I widh they had been a bit slower! Really, make the most of the relative peace and quiet of a baby who sits in one place for more than one minute.

Sacagawea · 01/01/2012 20:49

Not at all. Every baby has own time. :)

8 months is fine for not crawling. And teething is completely irrelevant to development, it's not really a milestone at all. Late teething often runs in families, ask your mum when you got your first tooth.

DD is my third and so far isn't crawling or teething.
The boys both had lots of teeth by now, though I confess to not exactly remembering when they started crawling....Blush

DS didn't crawl until he was 11 months and didn't walk until he was 17 months. His friends crawled and walked several months before he did but now at the age of 2 you can't tell the difference. Enjoy the chance to sit still whilst you can Xmas Smile

FrumpyPumpy · 01/01/2012 21:02

My DS didn't crawl until well after 13m. He learned to play really well sitting still, loved jigsaws and numbers early, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. Had teeth at 4m though. Don't worry, is early yet!

nocake · 01/01/2012 21:15

When you have a child crawling all over the place, pulling him/herself up on the furniture and grabbing anything within reach you'll be looking back on the non-crawling days with wistful longing.

DashingRedhead · 01/01/2012 22:23

My DD didn't crawl at all. Sat, then stood, then cruised. Despised crawling as beneath her dignity, I sometimes think! Grin

Jokat · 01/01/2012 22:52

As long as he is rolling over and manages to stay in a sitting position for at least a little bit I wouldn't worry at all.
