My 4 year old DS has just started staying this after everything I say to him. He gets me to repeat my answers to his questions over and over again, sometimes I think to be sure of my answer! But should I be concerned about his hearing which I have always thought a little selective but not a hearing loss??

My DD kept saying 'what you say?' over and over again - this was earlier this year when she was 3. I thought it was just an annoying habit she'd picked up, as her hearing / speech seemed fine to me, but when I eventually took her for a hearing test (asked to be referred by HV) she was diagnosed with glue ear and had grommets put in last month Blush

Might be worth getting his hearing checked if this continues.

Ah interesting as youngest DS has glue ear. I think I will ask HV to refer him then.Best to be sure I guess.

Same with my DD she did all of the above and she would pull my face so it was square infront of hers when I was answering her . She has had her grommets now for 18 months . She still does these things now and again I think out of habit . I would bring it up with your gp and arrange for a wee hearing test would hurt to get it checked out .

Ds does this and he's only 2 1/2, it's infuriating Angry. he does it on purpose as he laughs after and I think he's copying dh who has actual hearing loss. Does your younger son with glue ear do this too, could he be copying him for attention?

No youngest DS is our silent lamb, bless him, he is an angel just does his own thing! I will book a test, although I can see it being a challenge as he isnt the most compliant at the moment!
